One of my buddies told me I needed to get a Yo-Yo if I’m fishing for catfish. Can you tell me what this is and how to use it?

I’ve tried using circle hooks for catfish and while they work great with a strong current – I can’t seem to get the hang of using them in the lake when there isn’t a current. Any tips for using this hook when the fish doesn’t swim away from the boat or should I try something else instead?
