How to Find and Enter Catfish Tournaments

Know the rules before you join. This is something that seasoned anglers know about and do, but if you are just participating in your first tournament, you may skip this step. It is important that you read all the information about the tourney and the regulations and requirements before you sign up and pay a fee.

You do not want to sign up and arrive at the tournament only to be turned away because something you have or are doing is not allowed. Some tournaments make not be open to you.

You have to see if the tournament has a skill level that is expected. Then you need to know what equipment you can use and not use. You also need to know what the boat requirements are and if you can have a live well or not. Then, there may bait restrictions. You must know everything prior to signing up. If you sign up and do not meet the requirements on tournament day, you more than likely will not receive a refund of your money. Always read the small print and understand it. Then make sure that everyone in your group understands the rules and regulations as well.

Once you find a few tournaments that you are interested in signing up for, you can follow their directions and pay your fee on time to enter. If you have any questions, there is usually a phone number or email address that you can use to get the answers you need to make a decision whether to sign up or not.
