Killer Catfish Bait Recipes

Spoon soap into the ice trays.Allow the soap to cool for a few minutes, until it just starts to solidify again. Remove the soap cubes from the ice trays. Cut into smaller bait-sized cubes while soap is warm and place in an air tight container or zip-lock bag to retain moisture. DO NOT LET SOAP COOL BEFORE
CUTTING – IT WILL BECOME BRITTLE! Soap bait will be pliable and easy to use either with single or treble hooks.

Tetra-Min Suprise

1 cup flour
1/2 cup water
1 can sardines packed in oil
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/4 cup of salt
4 tablespoons Tetra-Min flaked tropical fish food

Thoroughly mix all ingredients and cook over low heat until it becomes difficult to stir. The dough should bind on the spoon to form a single mass. Remove and flatten on wax paper to cool. Store in an airtight container. Use with treble hooks. For long-term storage, place in refrigerator.

Catfish Tuna Helper

Tuna (3 cans)
Minced Garlic (1 tsp)
1/2 stick Velveta Cheese

Add Tuna, Cheese and Garlic in 1 quart bowl.
Stir with spoon.

Canned Catfish Biscuits

Take one can of tuna, or mackerel and empty into a mixing bowl, juice and all.
Then, open 2 cans of biscuits and remove the dough. Add to the mixing bowl and mix by hand, until all is well blended. Add a bit of flour if needed to maintain consistency. Store in a Tupperware container, or zip lock bags. To use, pinch off a suitable size chunk and place on a #4 treble hook.

You can also just pinch off chunks of Velveta Cheese and mold it directly onto a treble hook. Moist and Meaty Dog Food, can be used as is, on a hook.  And lastly, you can cut hot dogs into 1 inch wide chunks, place in a jar and cover with fish oil, or vegetable oil and minced garlic. Place the lid on tightly and store in the refrigerator for a few days.

These are just a few of the possibilities. Don’t be afraid to experiment.
