Catfish Rigs For Catching The Big One

This rig is very forgiving, and it allows you to try several different baits to determine quickly and easily what is going to work well at any particular time in any specific body of water. Another advantage to this catfish rigging method is that it is also very simple to prepare.

First, just splice a three-way swivel on your line, Then tie off a leader about 18 inches on each swivel, and attach a hook to each one of them. You can always add a weight if you want or need to, but the weight of your bait is often sufficient to hold your hook down in the water, and keep it stable, depending on water current and conditions.

Be sure you have the right size hook and bait if you want to target really big cats. Tiny hooks with tiny bait will catch you tiny fish. Give those big monster cats something to chew on, and you will be reeling them in hand over fist in no time at all.
