Fishing for catfish at night is really not so much different as far as bait is concerned. Plain old store-bought chicken livers will work, but a fresh liver works even better. One of the advantages of liver is that it’s easy to keep on your hook as long as the current isn’t too strong. Cut bait and stink bait – These are the old standby’s when it comes to catfish fishing any time of day or night. Again, they love the scent, and these baits are easy to prepare and put on your hook. Night crawlers – Night crawlers, worms and any other kind of creepy crawly thing will work really well because this is what the catfish are looking for. You have to think like a catfish to catch one! Not really, but just think about the kinds of treats they’re looking for at night, and that’s what you should use. This will depend a little on your particular neck of the woods.
