Is there any such thing as a catfish fishing machine? I’ve heard something like this exists, but I’m not sure.

Well, now, it depends on what it is you are talking about… My second cousin twice removed, Joe, contends that he is one fabulous catfish fishing machine, but I am not sure anyone else would agree with him on that. No, seriously, I have never actually heard of any literal catfish fishing machine, but I have heard of many captains and professional fishing guide services who offer well equipped fishing outfits that provide all the amenities necessary for a successful catfish fishing adventure while allowing every person taking advantage of these services (guide service, state of the art equipment, and instruction to anglers of all skills levels) to maximize their fishing adventure, and they almost all refer to their set up as a fishing machine. Perhaps that is what you heard about, and you just assumed it was a catfish fishing machine designed to actually catch catfish. I have also heard of various rod and reel set ups called catfish fishing machines as well, but as far as an actual mechanism that catches catfish, I am sorry to say I have never encountered one myself. If you ever do hear of an actual machine for catching catfish, please let me know. I would love to hear about it, but I wonder how much of the fun such a machine would take out of the sport we love so well. There is really nothing like the thrill and almost Zen like adventure of getting out on the water and catching a really big catfish all on your own!
