Catfish Rigs

A favorite catfish rig is the multibait rig. This method is good for catching large quantities of fish and is known for catching more than one fish at a time. The preparation is simple. Splice a three way swivel onto your line, tying a leader that is between 18-24 inches to each of the other swivels. Tie on the required hook. You don’t really need a weight; your bait should be heavy enough to sink the rig for you. Once you’ve cast, that’s it. You simply sit and wait. When you do get a bite, it may be multiple bites, which at first feels like the weight of the world pulling against you, and you may wonder if you’ve just caught a single world record breaker. However, it is not unusual to reel in two or three fish at a time with this particular method. If you really want this catfish rig to draw attention, try using different types of bait on each hook to see which draws more fish. This is an excellent choice for both beginners and long time fishermen because it’s easy to rig up as well as ultra-productive.
