Daniel, I would appreciate you checking out my website. In 2010 and 2011, I caught 1811 pounds of catfish all on the surface on the TOPCAT. You can use the TOPCAT to position your large splashing bait on the surface for setline style fishing or rod and reel fishing never before possible, check out the uprigger clip video on the products page. My largest topcat fish so far 67 pound flathead. Largest customer topcat fish so far 70 pound blue from the missouri river. I have released 8 flathead over 50 pounds since fishing with the TOPCAT. I LIKE IT ON TOP! Always looking for constructive criticism. Your site is sweet lots of info!

My husband and I live in AZ and he recently brought home some catfish he had caught to fatten up and eventually eat. We were feeding them craw-dads that he used to catch them with and all but one have died. What else could I feed it?? Anything I could feed it to fatten it up quicker? Or do you think that th kiddie pool I put it in is the problem? I'd love to hear any advice you would have for me. THANKS

I keep using 8" bluegill/sunfish in the early morning and evening with a 4/0 hook, which every time I do, my heavy action rod bends way down and I hook the fish, but my 65 lb. braided line keeps snapping when the fish jerks real hard. I've never dealt with a fish this strong before, and I need some help to pull this thing in. Any ideas?

Here is a simple way, tie your hook to your line with a overhand loop knot. The hook can slide around on the loop, loop needs to be big enough for the liver piece to go through it. Put the liver piece through the loop and be sure to hook it on both sides of the liver. This secures the liver and is easy to cast. Only issue is if liver is really soft it will fall off also.. I like firm liver and use about one half of a liver as the bait. It's worked well for me for many years and is simple.
