How can I catch more channel catfish?

You can catch more channel fish by being very patient. That may seem simple, but many times when catfish don’t bite a person will move from one location to the next. You need to give them time to come to your area so stay where you are and it will eventually happen. The selection of your bait is also something to think about. I have had lots of luck with fresh shrimp and night crawlers when it comes to channel catfish.
If you use shrimp, make sure it is raw and that it has the shell on it. I have found they stay on the hook better. Then you don’t have to worry about losing your bait. During the hotter months you will have better results with catfishing if you go out there after dark. If you can fish all night long you will have some great results with channel fishing.
