How can I make my own dough bait for catfish?

If you have flour and some other ingredients, you can make dough bait very easy. It is not so much the dough ball as it is the added ingredients that will attract the catfish. I will tell you how to make the dough ball and give some ingredients that can be mixed in before forming the balls. 2 cups flour 1 cup water Pour the water into a bowl and add 1-cup flour. Mix together and slowly add the second cup of flour while stirring until you have slightly stiff dough. Sometimes you can use one cup of flour and one cup of cornmeal, but straight flour works as well. Place some flour on the counter and start kneading the dough as you would a loaf of bread gradually adding flour to get rid of the stickiness of the dough. Then divide into portions, roll into a ball and place in the refrigerator. Plain dough is not going to attract the catfish. You can add chicken blood instead of water, you can mush up cheese or cat food and add it to the flour mix. You can add garlic, Tabasco or ivory soap to the dough and make something that stinks. The rule is if it stinks and makes you nauseous, add it. The only thing that you don’t want to use is anything frozen. All ingredients should be room temperature. You can find many recipes on this site for making dough balls and other stink bait that will attract the cats.
