how do you catch fresh-H2O catfish with a net

Well, if you are going to catch catfish with a net, you are going to be in for a surprise. It is not going to be easy since the catfish usually stay in deeper waters and even when they come to shallow waters, they are bottom feeders. How you are going to get the catfish into a net is tricky. You could try a smelting net, but then again, you have to check the laws of where you are fishing to make sure you are not breaking the law, wish I think might be possible. Of course, I could be wrong, but not far off. If you are talking about getting a caught catfish into the net, you guide the rod to the net as you bring the catfish up to the top. The net will need a long pole to hold onto, so you can have someone reach as you are reeling it in. The catfish does put up a fight, but they can gently be guided into the net. Rub some fish heads on the net to make it a little more appealing. It is a challenge when they are fighting, but you can do it. I hope I have answered your question. If you meant the first part of my answer, I would check with the DNR to see if it is legal. If it is the second part of my answer, take you time and easy the net to the catfish as someone brings it in.
