I was wondering if there are any specific colors that trigger catfish.

well i was wondering if theres a specific color that triggers catfish????

Catfish are actually blind to color so color does not affect them as much as it does another species. However, catfish have excellent eyesight and something shiny will attract their attention as well as something that smells. Some anglers will swear by a lure of such a color, but I have never really felt that color means anything. The catfish are known for going after dead and stinky bait more than they go for color. The catfish likes the dip bait, crayfish, shad and of course, chicken livers. You can save money and make your own dip bait or use chicken livers. I would not use anything of a specific color since catfish do not see color per say. If you want a great night of fishing, you should use the bait that attracts the cats. If you are serious about using a lure or something with color, I would talk to anglers at a specific water where you plan to fish. There may be an area where colors work more so than other bait. I have never had this experience with cats, but maybe someone else has. You may learn the same thing that I have said, but maybe someone has had experience with colors and catfish. If you want a good night of fishing catfish, use the bait that works the best. This would be the dip bait, shad or crayfish as well as chicken livers. You do not want to start experimenting when you really want to catch the cats for dinner. Use something that you know works.
