What type of fish will I catch on a limbline?

A limb line is a great way to fish.  It is also called tree limb fishing.  You do not need a boat, but you can use one as well.  A large number of fish can be caught using limb line fishing.  You should vary your length and line strength dependant on the type of fish you are after.   One of the benefits of fishing in this manner is that you can fish at various depths.  Do maintain the strict guidelines if your State Conservation Department has them for limb line fishing.

Another tip here is to alternate your bait.  You will need to check your lines often.  Keeping fresh bait on them makes a huge difference.  Live bait will do much better.  If you are fishing for catfish, use live bait that has blood as they are attracted to this.  You also want to consider the use of bait such as grasshoppers, worms, or grubs whenever possible over artificial bait.  Yet, you can use that, too.
