Looking For Catfish In Texas

Category: Uncategorized

I’m new to fishing, and I live in Texas. I can travel to any area, and would like to know a few lakes I should go to that have good catfish fishing?

Texas has some of the best catfishing spots in the entire United States, and that is no Texas-sized exaggeration. It’s a big state and it has lots to offer. The best thing is that you don’t have to travel far to enjoy it. If you live in the northern part of the state, one of the best places is Lake Lewisville. The lake has lots of blues, channels and flatheads, and there are great numbers of all species. This lake is also known for the high number of trophy fish that are pulled out every year. Another great spot in the north is Lake Texoma on the Texas-Oklahoma border. This is a reservoir, and the biggest blues ever caught in Texas have been caught here. Another great place in the north is Cedar Creek Reservoir. In the southern part of the state, most anglers will agree that Choke Canyon and Amistad have the best catfishing. These places are Meccas for Texas catfishers, and there are lots of great campgrounds and RV parks so that you can make a vacation out of it. Those are the best spots, but anywhere there’s water in Texas, you’ll find a ton of whiskerfish just waiting to be caught. Texas is known all over for its great catfishing, and anglers come from all over the country to enjoy it. And one of the best things about living in Texas is that you’ve got some of the tastiest catfish. No place fries catfish just right like Texas does.
