What catfishing pole is right for me?

The type of catfish pole that is right for you is the one that you feel comfortable with and one that can handle the fight you are going to have when you take on the cat. In the olden days, anglers just used a cane pole to catch a catfish. Today, you can use many different poles. The pole that is right for you will be the one that you can feel the bite, have control over the rod and reel, and one that is not so heavy that you cannot reel in a big fish. Everyone is different and the rod will be different as well. I might recommend the graphite six or seven-foot rod and a spinning reel. You can look at a sporting goods store and see all of the different rods. You can get a feel for the rod by holding it and casting it. Because everyone has a different way of holding the rod and a different method of fishing, you have to see which rod will feel the best for you when you are holding it and casting. You do want a rod you can control or you may be losing the fight against the fish. If you know people with different rods, maybe you could try a few to see which one would work better for you. You do want the rod that is strong enough to take the fight that a catfish will dish out. I do recommend the graphite, but the weight and length is up to you.
