What is a catfish shocker and how is it used?

The catfish shocker is not something I would recommend using for fishing. I believe in the old fashion way of fishing. The shocker shocks the water and makes the catfish come to the top of water so you can scoop them up. Keep in mind that the shocker is banned in some areas. If you were to shock the water, you would be bringing a lot of catfish to the top of the water and you cannot keep all of them. This means you could damage the other fish and they could and most times will die. If you want to catch a catfish, do it the traditional stinky bait. It works and you will catch only the amount of fish within the limit. The shocker way is not true fishing. This is a form of abuse and there is no guarantee that you will not harm all the fish species in the lake or river. You will have a thrill catching a catfish when you fish the right way rather than shocking fish to come to the top of the water. A true angler is not going to risk his reputation for catching fish on using such devices. Try the old fashion way of fishing and do not do anything to upset the underwater sanctuary of all the fish. Keep in mind the heavy finds and possible loss of your fishing license if you use the shocker in areas where it is banned. That is not what any angler wants.
