What is the best tackle for catfishing?

I am a strong believer in live bait or stink bait for catfishing. The hook is the thing that you should be concerned with as far as tackle. The hook has to be stainless steel and sharp. If you do not keep the hook sharpened after each bite, you risk the chance of losing the next fish. The catfish is tough on hooks and once it hooks into the fish, it dulls. If you use it on the next fish, the hook might not be sharp enough to take hold good enough to bring the fish into the boat. You can use a sharpener to make sure that every hook that is in your tackle is sharp before going out. I would suggest keeping at least twelve sharp hooks in your tackle box. You also want to keep a pliers and a line cutter. Sometimes that catfish will swallow the bait and the hook. You should also keep some made up leads so that you can replace it if you have to cut one. You can keep other things in your tackle box, but for catfishing, you are all set if you have hooks and a sharpener. Besides the tackle, you should keep some bandages in the tackle box in case you would get a cut or something from the fish. Some antibiotic cream is also a good idea. If you have these things and a good rod and reel, you will be all set for a good day or night of catfishing.
