What secrets can you share about catching catfish in Wisconsin?

Fish the Wisconsin River during the spring from the sandbars, from six at night until six in the morning. You will catch some flatheads and channels. Look for some deep holes. This is where you are going to bait the fish. These cats are down there just waiting to come out at night and feed. Use live and cut baits to lure the cat out of the holes. You can add a little stink to the mixture and the sense of smell that the cat has will send out a message that food is near. You will need a heavy action rod about seven feet long and a fifty-pound test line. The lower part of the river is where you are going to find the big cats. Because of the many sandbars, you can easily bait the fish right there in front of you. Plan to spend the night on the sandbar and fish until dawn. There will be a current, but it is gentle and will not affect how you fish. Other areas are also great for summer catfishing. Just remember to bait the fish with something that will appeal to the sense of smell. You could use a live baitfish or a homemade bait. If you make the trip to Wisconsin or live in the area, you will hear stories about the catfishing. It is the best you will find. You can also fish the waters for baitfish and use that to attract the cats at night. Wisconsin is not just for cheese and the Packers, it is a fishing state that has a proven record.
