Where can I catch catfish while visiting Indiana?

Although catfishing is the best in spring, summer fishing in Indiana is just as good if you know where to go. Two places that have great springtime fishing are the White River and Geist Reservoir. Since the fish are large, so you do need the right equipment for catching them. There are not many places for the cats to hide in the Geist Reservoir, but they are there. You can fish by the docks and close by the grassy areas. You do have to pay a fee to fish here, so talk to some locals before deciding to fish for the day. Make sure there are cats biting. You can fish the White River, which is actually two rivers. There is the west and east forks near Petersburg for fishing. If you want the best chance of catching a catfish, this is the place that you want to fish. You will not be disappointed. The cats are found around the weeds and rocks. During spring, you want to look for the deeper holes. There are many other places in Indiana to fish, but these are just two of the ideal places. Depending on the area you visit, you might find a good fishing hole nearby where you will be staying. Usually the local bait shops and sporting goods stores can tell you some good waters in the area to fish for cats. They can point you in the right direction if you are not near the Geist or White River.
